FROM THE RANCH, Terlingua. Color, 2022
In Terlingua, I stayed at an authentic cowboy tipi made of heavy canvas that moved and swayed with the strong winds. Even though it was romantic and maybe even endearing, I could barely sleep through it. I would wake up to a sliver of light coming through the flaps of the tent, only to look out to the subtle but glorious plateaus before me.
